Local to Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula in McCrae, Peter Mellett is a self-taught artist.

As a young man Peter filled many sketchbooks with drawings and only returned to the art at age 74 when Covid restricted his other activities, so he took up the pencil again and has since produced a few recent works as displayed on this site.

With a career in commercial art and creative design, Peter has used pencil media, both grey lead and colour to create lifelike images of family pets and unique faces.

In recent times he has turned to painting with acrylic and while still a novice in this media, has created ‘Boats on Blue’ as his first attempt and ‘McCrae Beach’
